Picture of Two People Carrying a Box

The Tang Dynasty

Height:77cm  Width:123cm

Unearthed in 1952 from eastern suburbs of Xi'an City, Shaanxi Province

The picture of two people carrying a box was painted in the tomb of Su Sixu, and the two figures were male attendants who had rosy cheeks and peaceful expressions.  They wore black scarfs, terra cotta robes with Jewel neck , light-colored trousers and black boots.  They strode toward the vault where the owner was located, carrying a rectangular box.  In order to make easier action, they tucked the front part of robe in the belt and it made the picture rich in flavour of life.
