The Sui and Tang Dynasties

The Sui and the Tang dynasties are the most glorious time in ancient China. Its capital Chang'an was the largest and the most prosperous metropolis in the world at that time. The politics, economy and culture of the Sui and the Tang dynasties were fully developed through the extensive contact with other civilizations. The cultural relics from these two dynasties are the reflection of the inclusiveness of the era and the stunning achievements attained through creativity and innovation.


Shaanxi After the Tang Dynasty

After the Tang Dynasty, Shaanxi no longer held the position as the seat of the imperial capital of China since Chinese political center moved to the east of the country. As the political, economic and cultural center in the northwest of China, Shaanxi continued to play a leading role in creating and inheriting Chinese culture with unique characteristics.
