Neolithic Age

Height: 21.7cm   Caliber: 7.4cm

Unearthed from Mizhi County, Shaanxi Province in 1989

This gray sand clay cylindrical jar (zun) with flaring mouth is carved with an animal image with slim limbs and exaggerated claws. Loop patterns are shown on the body of the animal with some carved slashes under it. Carved gray and black potteries mark the end of the color painted pottery age and the beginning of the coming new age known as Longshan Culture era.
