Yuan Dynasty

Total height: 43cm    Length: 35cm

Unearthed from the tomb of Yelyu Shichang, Xi'an City, Shaanxi Province in 1950

According to the national archaeological discovery, the main feature of the Yuan Dynasty tombs is the reduction of the buried pottery figures. Since the 1950s, a number of tombs of the Yuan Dynasty have been unearthed in Xi'an, and more pottery figures have been unearthed in the joint burial tomb of Duan Jirong and his wife in the southern suburbs of Xi'an. In Xi'an, these high-grade tombs of the Yuan Dynasty still retain the custom of burial with pottery figures, but most of them are crude.
