Unearthed from Guanshan Village, Lintong County, Shaanxi Province in 1981

Polo originated in Ancient Persia, first introduced to Tubo, and was introduced to the Central Plains from Tubo in the early Tang Dynasty. Playing polo has a high demand for the breed of horse and the riding skill of the rider. These two polo players, the polo players unearthed from the tomb of Wei Jiong in Chang'an County and the polo murals in the tomb of Prince Zhanghuai vividly illustrate that this sport was very popular in the Tang Dynasty.
